SNOWY RIVER DAY

COME AND RALLY FOR THE SNOWY RIVER

SUNDAY 26TH AUGUST 2007

Snowy River Way (Jindabyne Rd)

Premier’s Bracks (Vic) and Carr(NSW) restored the vital Moonbah River flows to the Snowy on 28th August 2002. 
Its flows were stopped on 30th January 2006 by these same governments and the Federal government

A wreath laying ceremony will commemorate 40 years (1967) since the damming of the Snowy where it lost 99% of its flows and its life  and 5years(2002) since these governments promised the Snowy a return of flows and its environmental health.

 LEST WE FORGET THE SNOWY RIVER AN AUSTRALIAN ICON

This will be followed by the premier of a film about the Snowy’s past and present

THE SNOWY RIVER  - Reflections of a river lost  – Les Herstik and Tim Gregory 

Followed by bbq lunch and the AGM of the Snowy River Alliance (SRA) 

There is a free bus  -  leaving from Orbost 7am – via Cann River  - Bombala
